Suggestions for Residents in Siatami Lodge

WELCOME TO SIATAMI LODGE, complex of Caribbeann-style Villas located in Cahuita. Siatami´s Staff is ready to attend to you. In charge of the Staff Mr. William Trejos, Miss Ana Brooks in charge of housecleaning and Mr. Roy Salas attending gardens and maintenance.

You are in one of the most wonderful and colourful areas in the Caribbean Coast in Costa Rica, full of Afro-Caribbean culture, coming from different  generations, arrived to the country to build the railway who connected big banana plantations in the area.
15 years ago hotels set up in all the area, being Cahuita one of the quietest with best-preserved environment and  living life as 40 years ago.

Our suggestions for a happy stay with us and to full enjoy your holidays are:

• Follow the instructions from the Staff and in case of any doubt, do not hesitate to contact them. They will be glad to help you.

• In Cahuita, as in other holiday places, one of the main incoming sources is tourism, so you will meet people in the village who offering activities and excursions with no guarantee of service, security and success. In case you look for any excursion, you are responsible of your choice. In case of any doubt, we suggest you to ask at the Reception where you will be advised if the service provider is reliable or not, and you will be advised about who in the village can offer guaranteed services, so you are free to choose the services provider.

As al the hotels located in Costa Rica, you have to take precautions to enjoy a happy stay:

• When not in your Villa, we pray you to check that doors and windows are closed and locked.
• Do not forget your key in the door as any foreigner could enter the Villa and upsetting you.

• Once in the Villa and ready to sleep, do please check that doors and windows are locked as, due that Villas are similar, any other guest could try to enter in by mistake and frighten you. We recommend this as, after any past experience, somebody comes from a party and becomes confused.

• At night, do never forget to lock the windows as the Villas are locates in a Tropical Forest and some animals look for food.

• As in all the places, there are friendly local people in the village but some of them try to take advantage of the tourists. You are well-travelled and adult people with enough experience to avoid scares, but do think about that, in humble and modest communities, families try to survive selling narcotics and other products that we in Siatami will NEVER recommend. If you choose them you are responsible of their use, application and consequences. In case of any doubt do ask our Manager who well knows the area and knows how to act.

• When in the beach in Parque Nacional de Cahuita or closer beaches you will find red and green flags. Red means danger and green means safe.

• When in the beach we recommend to pack drinks and food in your bag as there is no place in the beaches to purchase them.

• When in the beach do look after your bags as they could be stolen by monkeys or somebody.

• Do not walk out of the path when in the Park as animals could scare you.

• We recommend to place your valuables in the safe box at the Reception. When placed, a signed record paper will be provided to you. The Management is not responsible of any other object, money, cameras etc not places at the safe box.

• In case of illness, do contact immediately the Reception from where a doctor or an ambulance will be called.
